John P. Woods

John “Pete” Woods, age 93, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on August 22, 2012.  He was born on September 4, 1918 to Robert and Lula Booker Woods in Weatherford, Texas.   Pete managed Carter-Ivy Hardware Store for 20 years.  He also served with the CCA building bridges and parks across America.
He was preceded in death  by his parents, Robert E  Lee and Lula Woods;  daughters, Shirley Ann Woods and Linda Ratts; sisters, Bonnie, Ruby, Bobbie and Betty;
Pete leaves behind his wife of 72 years, Ruth Woods;  grandchildren, Leah Riedel and Rodney, Donna Blaylock and husband, David;  great-grandchildren,  Colby McLin, Mallory Riedel and Jonathan Blaylock; great-great  grandchildren, Matthew , Haylee,  and Flo Wilkie;  son –in-law, Don Ratts; sister-in-law, Billie Forbes; brother,  Buster  Woods; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 24, 2012 from 6-8 PM at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.
Service arrangements are the direction of Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.
