DooLolly was born March 18, 1946 in Weatherford, Texas to Timothy and Ardell Sansom. He worked for many years as a meat processor starting his work at Kennedy Sausage in Weatherford at a young age. He attended trade school at the historic I.M. Terrell High School to further his knowledge of meat cutting. DooLolly later worked as a meat-cutter at Winn Dixie in Fort Worth for many years. He went to work at Cantex Industries in Mineral Wells from which he retired after 23 years. DooLolly was affectionately known for his laugh and his ‘stories’ and ‘never had a cross word for anyone.’ Additionally, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, playing organized softball, was an avid Cowboys fan, and loved to play with anything which would fly by remote control. Most of all, DooLolly cherished time spent with his family - particularly his children and grandchildren.
DooLolly is survived by his children, Johnny Sansom, Jr., Amber Helbach, Sara Sansom, and Antwon Sansom; grandchildren, Nia, Zoe, Ty, and Angelo; and by his brothers Michael and Rhyna Lee Sansom; by his sister, Melody Sansom; and by other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, DooLolly was preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Sansom; brother, James Sansom; sister, Lanie Sansom; and by his baby granddaughter, Amiyah Kay McKay.
