Johnny Kirkland

Johnny Kirkland, 70, of Weatherford went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 12, 2019, after a long battle with IBM and a recent diagnosis of cancer. 

Funeral service: 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 15, 2019. at First Baptist Church with interment to follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. 

Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or American Cancer Society. 

Johnny was a Millsap High School graduate of 1967 and a faithful member of First Baptist Church for 33 years. He retired after working 30 years for the Weatherford Post Office. He owned fabric stores in Weatherford and Granbury. Johnny enjoyed photography, road trips to the Texas Hill Country, bird watching with Lucy and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jacque Cox. 

Johnny is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Pam Kirkland; daughter, Pam Gomez; granddaughters, Kaitlynn Foster and husband, Bryce, Lauren Potter, Hunter Gomez, and Averie Gomez; brother, Mac Kirkland of Arkansas; brothers in law, Mark Garner and wife, Karen of Colorado, Mike Garner and Nancy Coker of Weatherford, and Larry Cox of Bowie; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
