Joseph (Joe) Ray Glenn, age 58, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. He was born on April 28, 1966, in Fort Worth, Texas, and was lovingly adopted at birth by Bob R. and Carolyn Rhoten Glenn.
At the young age of five, Joe made a profession of faith in 1971, guided by Don Smelley. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he was actively involved in his church community. Joe served as a youth leader at North Side Baptist Church, alongside Joey Womble and Toby McSwain, sharing his deep commitment to his faith with others.
Joe was a 1984 graduate of Weatherford High School and went on to attend the University of Texas, where he advanced through his studies and graduated from the UT Health Science Center at the top of his class in 1986. In July 1987, Joe enlisted in the United States Air Force and honorably served his country until his discharge in May 1990 in Tucson, Arizona.
In 1992, Joe returned home and began his career at Ray Moorelock Dental Lab, where he worked from May 1993 until October 2006. In November 2006, he relocated to Waco, Texas, to continue his work as a dental lab technician. Joe later joined Summit Dental Lab in 2013, where he remained employed until 2023.
In September 2023, at the age of 57, Joe was diagnosed with Multiple System Atrophy (MSA), a condition he had been experiencing symptoms of since age 52. Despite the challenges, he remained strong and steadfast.
Joe was preceded in death by his father, Bob R. Glenn.
He is survived by his loving mother, Carolyn Glenn; his brother, Jimmy Glenn and wife, Becky; his sister, Jill Glenn Dunegan and husband, Dan; as well as his nieces and nephews: Macy Dunegan Hauptmann and husband, Nic, Sam Dunegan, Maggie Glenn Beaird and husband, Jake, and Major Glenn.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Iris Cunningham, Jennifer Loomis, and Angela Diaz of Summit Dental Lab for their support and care, and Van Houser for his counseling of Joe the past year.
The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 19, 2024, at North Side Baptist Church, 910 North Main Street, Weatherford, Texas.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 20, 2024, also at North Side Baptist Church, with a private burial at East Greenwood Cemetery, in Weatherford.
