Joy Fortenberry Hott

Joy Fortenberry Hott, 83, of Weatherford left this world on Wednesday June 8, 2011. Joy was born the first of three children to James and Opal Hamilton on September 6, 1927. Her marriage to L.C. Fortenberry produced two children and a very happy family until the passing of L.C. in 1971. She was lucky enough to find the second love of her life, Mr. Granville Hott. They were loyal members of Couts United Methodist Church and the New Visions Sunday school class. They had ten fun years of travel and golf before his passing in 2009. As realistic and practical person, death was not a fear. Her regret was “ all the things I wont get to see in the future!”

Daughter: Kathy Barakis and husband Gus of Weatherford
Son:        Mike Fortenberry and Wife Nancy of Beeville, Texas
Brothers:  Ben Hamilton and wife Marjorie of Pflugerville, Texas
               Don Hamilton and wife Betty of Houston, Texas
4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren
As Joy wished, her remains will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, donations  can be sent to the American Cancer Society.  The family will receive visitors and remember Joys life at the Couts United Methodist Church fellowship hall from 2 to 4pm on Sunday June 12, 2011.
