Judith Ann Rapue

It is with deeply saddened hearts that we announce the loss of our mother, Judith Ann Rapue (Judy) who succumbed to her illness on June 29, 2020. She was born in Los Angeles, CA to Robert Marley Nairn, Sr. and Lois Louise (Merkle). She was 77 years young. She gained her wings by helping and caring for so many including family and friends and has now risen to heaven to be with our Heavenly Father, Angels, family and dear friends. She will be missed by all.

She was a single Mom to her 3 children, she attended the University of Kansas School of Nursing and received her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) degree in 1970. She worked several jobs while attending school to support her young family. She spent over 30 years caring for others in her many roles as a nurse. She worked in nursing homes, hospitals, emergency rooms, Labor and Delivery, and in several private practice Physician's offices. She also ran a residential care center for Alzheimer's patients in Oregon. Nursing was her passion and she was an amazing nurse who made a difference to so many.

Judy is survived by her children Shelley (Mark) Bundy of Olathe, KS, son Gregory (Michelle) Jones of Waverly, MO, and daughter Christi (Tom) Barnicle of Hudson Oaks, TX. She loved her sweet pup Taco and hated being away from him. She rescued him from a shelter in 2014, he had been abused and she gained his trust and gave him a wonderful new life full of love and being spoiled! He was her constant companion.

She is survived by her siblings Robert Nairn, Jr. of Elkhart, KS, Mary (Gary) Finn of North Platte, NE and Holly (Wayne) Tolliver of Cotter, AR.

She leaves behind her Grandchildren Trisha, Patrick, Jennifer, Stacey, Stephen, Kelsey, and Sadie. And her Great Grandchildren Bailey, Makayla, Savannah, and Dean. As well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Arkansas, Nebraska, Kansas, Oregon and Texas.

She was predeceased by her parents Lois Louise Nairn in 1983 and Robert Marley Nairn, Sr. in 2001, her Brother Roger Nairn in 2006, her Sister Arlene Lackey in 2006. And her beloved feline friend Muffin.

Judy loved reading, doing crossword puzzles and watching the birds. She loved Taco and would throw his ball for him for hours! Never tiring as he happily brought it back to throw again! She owned a Bait and Tackle shop and loved fishing when she was younger.

The family would like to thank Asana Hospice of Fort Worth, TX for the care and support they provided during these past weeks. In lieu of flowers or donations, we ask that you take a moment to hug a child, grandparent, friend, or take a walk in the woods for a moment, an hour, or a day and give thanks. Time waits for no one.
