Karen Louise Austin

  Karen Louise Austin, September 1945 - December 2009, resident of Weatherford, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2009, in a Fort Worth hospital.

  Karen was born and raised in Waco, Texas. She attended St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing and Harris College of Nursing-Texas Christian University and received a Bachelor of Science Degree. She worked as a registered nurse for many years, and served as a volunteer nurse at Grace House Crisis Pregnancy Center. She attended Bethel Baptist Church. 

  She was one of two children born to the late Harvey and Gladys Morrow and was the beloved wife of James Austin for 39 years. 

  Karen will forever be remembered by her devoted brother, Kyle and wife, Kristi Morrow; beloved children, Amy and husband, Rudy Ragle, Emily Austin, and Aaron Austin and wife, Lachel; treasured grandchildren, Katie, Allie, and Erin Austin, Austin Cardenas, and Riley, Reese, and Ryan Ragle, and unborn granddaughter, Madeline Grace Austin; mother in law, Mary Austin; and other family and friends who were blessed to know her. 

  Karen loved shopping for her grandchildren, laughing, being with family, having fun with friends and taking care of people. Karen touched the lives of many people with her smile and generosity. 

  Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, December 12, 2009, at 10:00 a.m., at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 North Elm Street, Weatherford, Texas 76086.
