Karen (Rucker) Garner, 63, passed from this life on Monday, May 15, 2023. She was born August 20, 1959, in Sweetwater, Texas to Harry S. Rucker and Dorothy (Caraway) Rucker. Karen graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor's Degree in Education, later working for both the U.S. Department of Defense and the U.S. Department of Agriculture for a long career of thirty-three years. She was a dedicated and accomplished manager and leader and her contributions to her professional community will be greatly missed.

In addition to her professional achievements, she married the love of her life, Steven Garner; they enjoyed thirty-five years together and added three children to their family. Karen was a wonderful wife, mother, and a friend to many. She was a member of Southcliff Baptist Church in Fort Worth. As a dedicated servant of the Lord, she touched the lives of countless people in a uniquely special and caring way. Karen will be deeply missed by those who were blessed to have known her.

Karen was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Rucker.

Karen is survived by her beloved husband, Steven Garner of Weatherford, Texas; sons, Nathan Garner and Luke Garner; daughter, Sarah-Beth Garner; father, Harry Rucker; brothers, Clifford Rucker and wife, Judith, and Roger Rucker and wife, Linda; and numerous family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Southcliff Baptist Church, 4100 SW Loop 820, Fort Worth, Texas 76109, officiated by Pastor Elliot Higgins.
