Kathleen Wright, 90, of Weatherford, died Thursday evening November 27, 2014, at the College Park Rehabilitation Center in Weatherford. Born May 31, 1924 in Weatherford to Frank and Stella (Roberts) Thomas, Bonnie Kathleen Thomas grew up on her father’s dairy farm and graduated from Weatherford High School in 1940. She married John J. “Jack” Wright Dec. 4, 1942, after which he soon left to be commissioned in the Army Air Forces. After the war, Kathleen went with Jack to Texas A&M, followed by a move to Fort Worth. Kathleen was a homemaker and enjoyed learning to prepare gourmet meals when entertaining. She was a member of the South Main Church of Christ. When Jack retired, they built a home on land just outside of Weatherford that Kathleen had inherited, and lived there ever since. Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 69 years. Survivors include two sons, Stan Wright and wife, Toni, of Brownwood, and Tom Wright and wife, Rebecca, of Roanoke; three grandchildren, Randy Wright, Jenny Moore and Jim Wright; three step grandchildren and six great_grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 4, at the South Main Church of Christ, with interment in the East Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 2, at the funeral home.
