Kathlynn Corrine Lyon

March 7, 1939 — October 12, 2019

Kathlynn “Kathy” Corrine Lyon, age 80, of Weatherford, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2019 at her home. She was born to Richard and Carmen Gilliam on March 7, 1939 in Los Angeles, California.
Kathy was a graduate of Hollywood High and a survivor of The Great Alaskan 9.2 Earthquake of 1964. She had a true love for animals, and it all began in 1967 when she opened a pet shop in Hollywood, California. In her 30's Kathy was one of the foremost people in California to advocate animal protection and animal rights. She was a member of the Association of Avian Veterinarians and the Veterinary Information Network. While living in Hollywood she was also one of the first hair models for Max Factor and their hair coloring process. After moving to Texas in 2009 to be closer to family Kathy sought out any chance to volunteer or get involved. She volunteered at the Weatherford Animal Shelter and served on their Advisory Committee, was a member of the Noon Lions Club, and volunteered at the local nursing homes. Some may remember Kathy as “The Crazy Chicken Lady” in Weatherford that insisted on getting the Chicken Ordinance passed.
Kathy is survived by her daughter, Megan Parks and husband Gary of Weatherford, Grandsons, Kenneth Parks of Arkansas and Keith Parks of Nevada, great grandson, Brayden Parks of Arkansas. She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Charles Dunham. The family will hold a celebration of Kathy’s life at a later date.
