Kenneth Lee Vantine

Kenneth Lee Vantine, 59, of Weatherford, TX passed away on May 30, 2009 surrounded by his loving family. Ken was born on August 6, 1949 in Kane, PA before moving at the age of 5 to Amarillo, TX. He graduated from Tascosa High School in 1967. He then graduated Lamar University in 1971 where he received a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He later received his Professional Engineer certification and started a career in the industrial refrigeration industry. Ken was a member of several professional organizations including Refrigerating Engineers and Technicians Association, International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers. He worked as a sales engineer for FES-Southwest, Inc. for 23 years. Ken was a dedicated husband and father who was involved in the Weatherford Soccer Association and Weatherford Little League Association. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, classic cars and spending time with his grandchildren. He was also a member of Couts United Methodist Church in Weatherford, TX. Ken is survived by his wife of 37 years Merilyn Vantine of Weatherford, TX, mother, Martha Vantine of Weatherford, TX, brother Lynn Vantine of Aurora, IL, daughter and son-in-law Mandye and David Bowers of Fort Worth, TX, son and daughter-in-law Brad and Carol Vantine of Weatherford, TX, son Scott Vantine of Weatherford, TX, grandchildren Hayley and Mia Vantine and Christopher and Aaron Bowers, mother-in-law and father-in-law Mozelle and Herbert Weghorst of Weatherford, TX. Services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, June 2nd at Couts United Methodist Church in Weatherford. Visitation will be from 6 – 8 PM on Monday, June 1st at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Home.
