Larry Dene Scoggins

Larry Dene Scoggins, 88, of Weatherford passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2014 in a Fort Worth hospital.Larry was born November 12, 1925 in Pecan Gap, Texas to Albert and Ophelia (Hindman) Scoggins. Mr. Scoggins retired from General Dynamics, formerly owned a used auto dealership and retired from the Peaster Post Office. He was a member of the Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge. Larry was a veteran of the US Navy and served in WWII. Larry loved spending time with his family, especially enjoyed playing “42”, “Wahoo” and other various board games.  He is survived by his wife, Earline; daughters, Darla Dobbs and husband Mack and Vicki Beck and husband Alan all of Peaster; sons, Dene Scoggins and Gary Scoggins and wife Shannon all of Weatherford; grandchildren, Chris, Mandi, Tommie, Tracy, Mitchell, Chad, Nikki, Amber, Brandon, Cameron, Ashlynn and Alyse; great grandchildren, Austin, Paulie, Colton, Tanner, Kallie, Kassi, Tabor, Kaci, Bryson, Brayan, Brylan, Camryn, Journi, Paige, Sydney and Addie; great great grandson, Roper.
The Scoggins family would like to give a special thanks to Keenland Nursing Home and the physical therapy staff. 


Funeral: 2 PM, Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Galbreaith Pickard with Rev. Donald Dobbs officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Hill Cemetery.
Visitation: 6-8 PM, Friday at the funeral home.
