Larry Gene Sprankel

Larry Gene Sprankel, 84, of Weatherford, Texas, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2021, in Weatherford.

Visitation will begin at 10 A.M., Friday, December 17, 2021, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Services celebrating his life will begin at 11 A.M., Friday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at East Greenwood Cemetery in Weatherford, Texas.

Larry was born on July 15, 1937, in Huron, Ohio, to Elmer and Alberta Sprankel. He proudly served his country in the USAF and later in the National Guard for over 20 years. He was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Weatherford. Larry was a sheet metal specialist working for Pierce Associates. Most of all, Larry will be remembered for his hard work ethic and for his devotion to his family.

Larry is survived by his children, Maggie Rose (Joseph) Freitas and Larry Gene Sprankel, II; grandchildren, Melinda, Scarlett, Vincent, Zachary, and Melissa; and by his great-grandchildren, Emery, Jensen, Carly, and Oliver.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by is grandson, Adam Freitas.
