Our angel, Lauren Lannette Chapman, 46, of Weatherford, slipped away peacefully from this world to be with her Lord early Thursday morning, September 3, 2015, at her home.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at her church home at Aledo United Methodist Church, 100 Pecan Street in Aledo, Texas. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service, Tuesday, at the church. Burial will be at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring, Texas at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 9, 2015.
Lauren was born at Vandenburg AFB, California. She was the oldest of two daughters born to Larry and Darlene Chapman.
Lauren loved her Lord, her church, and her family. They were all part of her loving circle, and her greatest joy was our family’s love for each other.
Lauren loved to travel, especially on cruises. A highlight of one cruise was parasailing in the Caribbean. She also loved roller coasters, riding every roller coaster in Las Vegas, including the ones off the top of the Stratosphere! Lauren loved music, reading, plays and the theater, and was so enjoying fostering that love in her niece, Zoe. She loved family gatherings and helping plan all the details. Lauren loved crafting and was always searching for her next project. Always a computer whiz, Lauren loved to search out interesting subjects and was constantly learning and sharing with her friends and family. Most of all, Lauren cherished time spent with her family, her friends, and her dachshunds.
Lauren was known for her loving heart, always eager to help her many friends and family members in any way possible. She loved laughter, and always saw the positive in any person or situation. She was an inspiration to everyone who knew her as she handled her many health struggles with such courage and grace, and love of life. For Lauren, the glass was always half full.
Lauren is survived by her loving parents, Larry and Darlene Chapman; her special sister, Gayla Chapman Fernandez; and by her beloved niece, Zoe Fernandez, many loving aunts and uncles, dear cousins, and a multitude of friends.
Lauren was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Dean Johnson and S.T. Johnson; maternal grandparents, Dalton and Roberta Wright; dear friend, Richard Swart, and her close dachshund companion of many years, Heidi.
“Lauren, that constant smile on your face while here on this earth, now smiles in heaven with our Lord.”
“All is well with my soul.”
In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made in Lauren’s name as tribute to her sister to Careity Foundation, P.O. Box 126038, Fort Worth, Texas 76126.
