Lenora Cox, 98, a long time resident of Parker County, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2012. Myrtle Lenora (Smith) Cox was born March 25, 1913, in McCulloch County, Texas, daughter of Milton J. Smith and Cora (Ellison) Smith.
She married Andrew Haley Cox on October 30, 1932. They celebrated almost 70 years of marriage until his passing in 2002. They were members of Hillcrest Church of Christ. He was a deacon and she was a loving Christian wife and mother.
Lenora loved sewing, crocheting, gardening, canning and working in her flower beds. She enjoyed family reunions, working on genealogy and reading her bible. At age 79, she started Weatherford College to learn computers to write her book “Lenora’s Collection”. She also took Art classes there. She shared many paintings with family and friends.
She loved her church, family and friends. She will be missed dearly.
She is survived by her daughter, Annetta Harris, sons, Carroll Cox and wife Pat, Evered “Dale” Cox and wife Wanda, brother, J.B. Smith, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral 2:00 PM Thursday, January 5, 2012 in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Visitation 6-8 PM Wednesday. Interment in Memory Gardens. Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.
