Lessie Marie Strickland

Lessie Marie Strickland, 80, of Weatherford, died Tuesday, January 11, 2011 in a Stephenville hospital. Mrs. Strickland was born June 29, 1930 in Parker County where she was a life long resident until moving to Stephenville in 2008. Marie was a billing clerk, a homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She enjoyed her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Mrs. Strickland is preceded in death by her husband Travis Strickland, parents, Clarence and Estelle Blackerby and brother, Edwin Blackerby. Survivors: Daughters; Brenda Baldwin and husband Lonnie of Stephenville, Donna Strickland and husband Charles Marvin of Columbia, Missouri, Debbie Mangrum and husband Sam of Stephenville, son Ricky Strickland of Weatherford, sisters, Emma Lou Mann and husband Edd of Weatherford and Clarica Burns of Cooper. Eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren.
 
Funeral service 10am Friday at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Visitation 6-8 pm Thursday. Interment in Memory Gardens.
