October 24, 1921 — May 17, 2007

Lillian Evelyn Anderson-Leatherman, 85, went to be with the Lord, Thursday May 17, 2007 at a local nursing home. Evelyn Anderson was born Oct. 24, 1921, in Liberty, Texas to William Wyley and Bessie R. Mamie Lynn-Anderson. Evelyn married Elmo Leatherman on Sept. 18, 1939 in Floydada, Texas. They moved to Parker County in 1940 and have resided in the Garner community since 1952. She was a long time member of the Garner Baptist Church where she spent much of her time working for the Lord.Evelyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and Christian. She loved to sew, quilt, cook, drive a tractor and take care of her family. She was always singing hymns as she worked.She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters and three brothers. Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Elmo Leatherman; Sons Leonard and wife Sharon of Weatherford, Earnest and wife Martha, and Dalton and wife Threasa of Garner, daughter Wanda Lovelace and husband Tim of Weatherford; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-eight great grandchildren; sister Dolly Burgett of Dallas and many nephews, nieces and friends. The family wishes to thank the staff at Holland Lake Nursing Center, Alpha Omega Hospice and Dr. Mark Eidson for the care they gave Evelyn.Funeral Service            2 PM, Sunday at Garner Baptist Church.Iinterment           Holders Chapel Cemetery.Visitation          6 to 8 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
