Brock – Linda Chapman Balentine, 65, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015, after a battle with cancer. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends throughout the community. Linda was born March 10, 1950 in Brownwood TX. She grew up in Brock and was raised in the Christian faith, accepting Christ at a young age. Attending Brock High school, Linda played basketball as her primary sport and subsequently graduated in 1968. She went on to Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga where she met Brent Balentine of California. They were married in August of 1970, finally settling in Brock, where they raised four children. Both Linda and Brent went on to establish Balentine’s Bakery in Weatherford, and later in Brock where it resides today. Linda’s dedication to her customers as well as the community was much appreciated. Linda was genuinely family-oriented, spending much of her time with family on vacations and other activities. Preceeded in death by: Father, Clarence Chapman, Mother, Veldene Chapman, and Granddaughter, Angelena Marcantonio.
Survivors include: Husband, Brent Balentine of 44 years; Son, Mark Balentine and Wife Jennifer; Daughters, Brenda Marcantonio and Husband Rick, Jennifer Bagwell and Husband Sean, Susanna Marcantonio and Husband Franco; Grandchildren, Bryce and Wife Katy, Alex, Nick, Evan, Alexander, Patrick, Giuliana, Max, Sarah, and Kaden; Brother, David Chapman and Wife Lena; Sister, Sharon Threatt and Husband Rbie; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Memorial Service: 3:00 Saturday, March 21 at Brock Baptist Church
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the following Brock organizations in Memory of Linda Balentine: Brock-Dennis Volunteer Fire Department or Brock-Dennis Community Center.
