Linda Louise (Ramsey) Skov was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on August 1, 1945, and passed peacefully on to her heavenly home surrounded by her immediate family on June 5, 2024, in Weatherford, Texas.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick Allison Ramsey and Sarah Jane (Graham) Ramsey of Moon Township, Pennsylvania and also by her brother, Frederick James Ramsey and his wife, Helen (Hildebrand) Ramsey of Rochester, New York.
54 years ago, Linda married the love of her life, Erik, and together they raised their daughters, Amanda Jane Skov of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Anna Louise Nave of Annetta North, Texas. Linda is survived by: Erik; Amanda, her husband, Joseph Charles Ott and their sons, William Frederick Ott and Benjamin Joseph Ott; Anna, her husband, Shannon Lee Nave and their sons, Jackson Graham Nave and Peter Erik Nave; and several nieces, nephews, and their families. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Christian and her sister-in-law, AnnaLis of Assens, Denmark.
Linda graduated from Moon High School and received her undergraduate degree in Special Education from Clarion University in Clarion, Pennsylvania. Later in life, after juggling exam dates and cancer treatments, she received her Master’s Degree from University of Houston. Linda taught Special Ed for 30 years in several school districts in Pennsylvania and Texas. Her professional success was rooted in her enduring love for her students, and many were the mornings when she rose early to pack lunches for her daughters, herself, and for those students who otherwise would have gone without.
Linda was a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church in Katy, Texas for many years and served there as an ordained elder. She was a member of Grace First Presbyterian Church in Weatherford, Texas and attended, for many summers, Mount Tabor Presbyterian Church in Sigel, Pennsylvania near her beloved summer home on the Clarion River in Belltown, Pennsylvania. Linda was a long-term member of Weatherford Art Association; she was an accomplished artist and exhibited her art at “The Firehouse,” at several businesses in town, and had her own exhibit at the Doss Center. In addition to her service to her students, Linda also supported her community by serving, over many years, fellow cancer patients as a counselor for the cancer support group “Cancare'' in Houston. She was generous and enthusiastically supported “Manna” and her own private charity, “Palo Pinto Schools Christmas Fund.”
In lieu of flowers, Linda would have encouraged all her friends to contribute to Mount Tabor Presbyterian Church, Sigel, PA 15860 and/or Grace First Presbyterian Church in Weatherford, Texas.
