Linda Joyce (McKeown) Wadlington

Services for Linda Joyce (McKeown) Wadlington of Weatherford will be held at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Home, 913 North Elm Street, Weatherford, Texas, at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 29, with a short visitation at 9:15 a.m. Burial will immediately follow at East Greenwood Cemetery.

Linda was born on Feb. 7, 1955 in Weatherford, Texas, the tenth and last child of Rodney W. and Ruth (Pirkle) McKeown. She went to be with her Lord and Savior and so many of her loved ones in glory on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022.

Linda accepted Christ as Savior and was baptized at North Side Baptist Church when she was in third grade. She attended Weatherford schools and graduated in 1973 from Weatherford High School and attended Weatherford College.

She met Darrell Loyd Wadlington from Brock their senior year in high school and the two were married on Oct. 26, 1973. They lived most of their lives in Weatherford, but also lived in Arkansas, Louisiana and New Mexico.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; sisters, Gladys McKeown in 1988, Wanda Ragle in 2011 and her husband, Ralph Ragle, Sr. in 2007, Jean Roberts in 1989 and her husband, Billy Roberts in 1982, Bessie Long in 2015, and Barbara Lombardi in 2002; brothers, Royce McKeown in 1966 and his wife, Abigail McKeown in 1974, and Floyd McKeown in 2011; father-in-law, Loyd Wadlington in 1985; and sister- and brother-in-law, Alvie and Linda Whitlock.

She is survived by her husband, four days short of their 49th anniversary. Linda is also survived by her two twin brothers: Donald and his wife, Sara McKeown of Weatherford, and David and his wife, Linda McKeown of Denton; brother-in-law, Bobby Gene Long of Weatherford; and sister-in-law, Diana McKeown of San Angelo. Linda is also survived by mother-in-law, Stollie Pearl Dixon; sister-in-law, Patricia Spears; and brother- and sister-in-law, Terry and Diane Wadlington all of Weatherford. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
