Linda Kay Walker

October 20, 1941 — January 27, 2025

Linda Kay Walker, 83, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2025. She was born on October 20, 1941, in Throckmorton, Texas, and later attended Lake Worth High School, where she was a proud member of the basketball team and earned All-State honors.

In 1970, Linda married the love of her life, Fredrick Lee Walker, and together they built a life filled with love, family, and cherished memories.

Linda dedicated much of her career to public service, working at the IRS for 15 years and retiring from the Social Security Office after 23 years of service. She also dabbled in real estate and spent time working at Cracker Barrel, where she enjoyed meeting new people.

Cooking, hosting, gift-giving, and being a Nanny made her the happiest. Her love language was making others feel welcomed and cherished. Once you met Linda, you became family. She will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and the warmth she brought into the lives of those around her.

She is survived by her children: Debby and James Blanchard of Shreveport; Brian Duncan and wife, Cecilia of Weatherford; Wayde Duncan and wife, Nikki of Weatherford; Brett Walker and wife, Miranda of Shreveport; and Brad Walker and wife, Jeaninne of Texarkana.

Linda was a proud Nanny to nineteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren—with one more on the way—and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fredrick Lee Walker, and her mother, Ruby Nell Hawthorne.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the Aurora Cemetery, in Aurora, Texas. All are welcome.
