Lisle Danforth Patton

May 12, 1943 — August 1, 2021

Lisle Danforth Patton lost his battle with dementia on Sunday, August 1, 2021. He was born on May 12, 1943, in Hereford, Texas, to William and Hellen Danforth Patton. Lisle will be remembered for his great laugh and love of life. He always said, “if you’re not having fun then what’s the point?”

He lived large from motocross to dirt bikes in Colorado, to hunting in North and South America, Africa, New Zealand, and Australia. Lisle was happiest with a gun in his hand. He loved all things shooting including the many matches he participated in, and all the hunts throughout the years. He especially loved sharing them with friends. Lisle shared the last 31 years with his wife, Abbe, and told her frequently those were the best years of his life. They shared a life filled with love, laughter, friendships, travel and adventures. When you think of Lisle remember him with his head thrown back laughing and often times saying “I’m a lucky boy!”

There will not be a funeral. His cremated remains will be scattered at several of Lisle’s favorite places. Memorials can be made to The NRA Foundation, Lisle D. Patton endowment for youth education, 11250 Waples Mill Rd, Fairfax Virginia 22030 or a charity of your choice.
