Adrian Lloyd Mynatt, Jr., 77, of Weatherford passed away Friday, March 16, 2018. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at Bethel United Methodist Church, 3196 Bethel Rd, Weatherford, Texas 76087, with Dr. Ann Hitt officiating. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N Elm St., Weatherford. Memorials may be made in Lloyd’s memory to Bethel UMC.
Lloyd was born, October 25, 1940, in Bonham, Texas to Adrian and Annabelle Whitlock Mynatt. Football was Lloyd’s passion. After a stand-out career at Ennis High School, Lloyd played scholarship football for TCU from 1959 to 1963. Upon graduation he was drafted by the Oakland Raiders. After coaching high school for a time in Temple, Lloyd moved to Austin, where he began his career in Radio. He then moved his family to Abilene, Texas, where he would eventually own and successfully operate several radio stations. He sold the stations and retired to Weatherford in 2003. In addition to TCU sports, Lloyd enjoyed fishing and camping. He was a faithful member of Bethel UMC.
Lloyd is survived by wife of 55 years, Carolyn Ann (Armstrong) Mynatt; daughters, Dena Kangas and husband, Eli of Aledo, Nikki McInnis and husband, Dan of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Adrianne (Kangas) Cox and husband, Kyle, Lindsey Kangas, Abby McInnis, and Maggie McInnis.
