Lois Mae Thompson, 86, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018, in Weatherford.
Funeral: 10:00 a.m. Saturday in Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Interment: Memory Gardens of the Valley Memorial Park. Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials: In lieu of usual remembrances, the Thompson family suggests contributions in Lois’ memory be made to the North Side Baptist Church Building Fund, 910 North Main St., Weatherford, Texas 76086.
Lois Mae Moore Thompson was born July 18, 1931, in Gould, Okla., the youngest of two daughters to John Henry and Della Mae Burton Moore. She made her career for many years as a librarian aide at Weatherford College and volunteered her time as a candy striper at hospitals in San Antonio and Germany while her husband Donald was in the service. Lois was a member of North Side Baptist Church for many years and prior to that at Hilltop Baptist Church, where Donald pastored for 25 years.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Reverend Donald Thompson; her parents; and sister.
The Thompson family would like to extend their heartfelt love and appreciation for the kindness and care extended to Lois by the staff at Weatherford Health Care and Kindred Hospice.
Survivors: Children, Steven Thompson of Irving, Tim Thompson and wife, Terri, of Weatherford, and Patty Thompson of Springfield, Ill.; grandchildren, Mike and wife, Tracy, Philip, Ashley and husband, Jeffery, Melissa and husband, Clayton, Shane and wife, Autumn, Nathan, and Daniel; great-grandchildren, Baeleigh, Hynlee, and Caleb; in-laws, Wayne Thompson and wife, Nell, Kathy Densmore and husband, Glenn, Leslie Thompson and wife, Latricia; and a host of nephews and nieces, loving church family and friends.
