Lonnie Wayne Harris, 71, of Granbury, passed away Monday, June 18, 2018, at his home, in the presence of his loving family.

Lonnie was born in Yuma, Arizona, on March 15, 1947, to Glen and Muriel Harris. He a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and was the owner of Absolute Drywall in Fort Worth. He enjoyed riding his Harley and was well known love of outdoor cooking. There was rarely a time in the evenings or on weekends that he wasn’t on his patio with numerous guests as he was also known for helping and feeding anyone in need. Most of all, Lonnie will be remembered for his laughter, “off color” jokes, warm smile, and devotion to his wife and children.

Lonnie is survived by his wife of 15 years, Velma Sue; his children, Eric Harris, Nichole Modgling, Greg Harris; step-children, Marshall McDougal, Adam Nowlin, and Michele Nowlin; 10 grandchildren; and by his sister, Carmen and husband, Doyle Harris; and by his brother, Harold Harris; and by his seven dogs.

In addition to his parents, Lonnie was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles and Michael Harris.

A celebration of his life and anniversary will be held at his home on Saturday, June 23 in the manner of his choosing including beef brisket, BBQ, cold beverages, good’ ol country music and lots of smiles and laughter.
