Loretta Barbara Baker, 75, passed from this life on Saturday, March 2, 2024. She was born on August 29, 1948, in Bell Fountain, Ohio, to her loving parents, Albert Snyder and Margaret Snyder (Jenkins). Loretta dedicated 35 years of her life as a Lab Technician in the fabrication industry at Jamak Fabrications in Weatherford. Her passion for music, animals, and devotion to family were the cornerstones of her life.
Among Loretta's many joys were having a meticulously groomed yard and beautiful roses. She found solace in the simple pleasures of life like enjoying a good beer and freely sharing both her wealth with local animal shelters and her wisdom with others. A woman of conviction, Loretta's candid nature painted her as outspoken and bold; never one to sugarcoat words but always speaking from the depths of her heart.
Loretta was preceded in death by her cherished husband, John W. Baker, and her parents, Albert and Margaret Snyder.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Franklin Lee Baker; daughter, Korena Penny; daughter-in-law, Mona T. Hicks-Baker; grandchildren, Jacob Penny, Julie Baker, Arden Baker, and Alex Baker; great-grandchildren, Colton Penny and Serenity Penny; and an eagerly anticipated great-granddaughter, Janet Faye Whitcomb.
A memorial service honoring Loretta's life will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, in Weatherford, Texas. After the service, everyone is invited to Zion Hill Community Center. In celebrating the life lived by Loretta Barbara Baker, we find solace in memories that will forever bloom in our hearts.
