Lucy Marion Braund Durant passed away peacefully with family at her side. July 29, 2019. A visitation will be held Friday, August 2, 2019 from 6 to 8:00 p.m., at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 3, 2019, 2PM, at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel with burial following in Tin Top Cemetery.
During the war, she met a young Merchant Marine named, Elton (Tex), whose ship was preparing for D-Day. That meeting turned into a loving 65 years together, beginning July 4, 1945.
Lucy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and will be missed and leave an empty space in our hearts, the great memories of vacations, the many holidays spent at her house, the great meals with the family. Mainly, she will be remembered for always being there for us and making our house a loving home.
Lucy retired from North American Phillips in Mineral Wells in 1986, before that time, she worked on the Hisey Eggs Farm on the Fort Worth Highway in Weatherford.
She loved to travel and for an English girl, she was a big fan of country music.
Lucy is survived by her son Paul and wife Joan of Weatherford; 6 grandchildren, Kristi Miller, Doug Durant, Richard Durant, Stefanie Carlson, Michael Durant, and Marion Threatt; brother in-law, Robert Durant and wife Dean of Lufkin, TX; sister in-law, Anne Mae Nettles and husband, John of Fort Worth, Joyce Braund of Barry, Wales.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elton Lee Durant; son, Duane Lee Durant;parents, Herbert and Elsie Braund; brothers, William Braund and Herbert Braund, both of Barry Wales.
