Luther "Mickey" Mitchel Evans, a man of remarkable character and diverse talents, departed this earthly realm on Friday, April 12, 2024. He graced this world on December 8, 1940, in Weed, New Mexico, and his journey through life was adorned with unwavering dedication and service.
Mickey's noble spirit led him to honorably serve his country in the United States Navy before donning the badge of a police officer in Geneseo, Kansas. Transitioning through various roles such as a supervisor at construction sites and an entrepreneurial welding business owner did not divert Mickey from his steadfast faith; he remained a preacher throughout these endeavors.
A man of many passions, Mickey found solace in song, the art of welding, the tranquility of fishing, and the thrill of hunting deer. His zest for life was contagious and left a lasting impression on all who were fortunate enough to know him.
In the hearts of those he leaves behind, Mickey's legacy endures. He is lovingly remembered by his daughter and son-in-law, Gayla and Joe Clayton; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Cindy Evans; grandsons, Michael (Andrea) Owen, Curtis (Gabby) Evans, and Brian (Kylie) Evans; and granddaughters, Peggy (Robert) White, Tiffany (Josh) LeLeaux, Ashley DeWitt, Ashley Evans, and Lizzy Ferguson.
In addition to his parents, Mickey was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carolyn Kaye Evans.
A graveside service will begin at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at the Memory Gardens Cemetery, in Weatherford, Texas.
