Lydia Ruiz

July 31, 1950 — February 6, 2023

Lydia Ruiz has died peacefully on February 6, 2023, from pancreatic cancer. Born July 31, 1950, in D.F. Mexico and adopted by Isaias and Trinidad Godinez Martinez. She was a dedicated Registered CNA for almost two decades and dedicated the rest of her life to her family and community. She was a proud charter member of Court Mother of Serenity 2466 at St Stephen Catholic Church. There was never a day you’d see her without a smile. She was a beautiful seamstress, a phenomenal cook, and always had a servant’s heart for those around her.

Lydia is survived by her husband of 52 years, Ernesto D Ruiz, their children Dora Rivera and husband Tolo, Mary Ruiz-Rockwell husband William, Ernest Ruiz and wife Yolanda, and Lydia Cathy Ruiz and husband Jeff Foster. Nine grandchildren, Jennie Ruiz, James McCreery III, Jesus Tito Ruiz, Amber Scuderi and Husband Brandon, Carlos Ruiz, Gabriella Reyes, Ronnie Rivera, Joseph Rivera, and Jesse Rivera. Five great-grandchildren, Adriano Ortega, Amelia Scuderi, Quetzalli Ortega, Eleanor Scuderi and Evalyn Scuderi.

She was preceded in death by her great-granddaughter Rayna Johnson.

She leaves behind three generations of family she loved. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her and know her. 

A Rosary prayer service will begin at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 24, 2023, at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1802 Bethel Rd, Weatherford, Texas 76086; Mass will begin at noon, followed by a luncheon held at the Holy Spirit Center.
