Lynda Jean Higdon-Whetsell, 70, of Granbury, passed away early Thursday, August 20, 2020, in Weatherford. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 10 A.M., on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at the Weatherford Lake Marina Pavilion. Burial will be private.
Lynda was born September 4, 1949, in Gorman, Texas to Chester and Doris Allen. Lynda enjoyed outdoor activities including camping, fishing and bird watching. She was known for her artistic abilities including drawing and painting. Lynda never met a stranger. Most of all, Lynda will be remembered for “putting others first” – particularly her grandchildren.
Lynda is survived by her daughters, Shayne and husband Sam Jacobs and Shea Lynn and husband Alex Morrow; her grandsons, Porter and Rebel Jacobs; her brother, Randy Allen and wife Susan Allen; her aunt and uncle, Lavonne and Ben Jaramillo; and by her cousins, Harrell and Kim Barger, Michael and Tammy Barger, David and Sandra Jenson, and Mark and Kim Jenson.
In addition to her parents, Lynda was preceded in death by uncle and aunt Dan and Melba Ray Barger.
