Mae Smallwood Biggs

February 22, 1916 — November 5, 2008

Mae Smallwood Biggs, 92, of Weatherford passed away Wednesday November 5, 2008 at Weatherford Regional Medical Center. Born February 22, 1916 in Rogersville, Alabama to John and Oma Smallwood. She attended school in Alabama and later finished in Senath, Missouri. She owned a beauty salon there for a few years and met and married her life’s partner, Albert M. Biggs. They were married on December 9, 1937 by Judge Albert Biggs, the groom’s father. They moved to Weatherford in 1949 and together ran a successful real estate business until 1989. Mae was very active in North Side Baptist Church as a youth department superintendent, Sunday school teacher and choir member. She was blessed with a wonderful sense of humor and wanted everyone to know her lord. Her unwavering faith was a source of strength for her family and all who knew her. The family wishes to thank Weatherford Health Care and Weatherford Regional Medical Center for their superior care and compassion. Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Al Biggs in 1989, her parents and a brother, M.C. Smallwood. 
She is survived by her son Richard Biggs and wife Sue of Fort Worth, three grandchildren: Brenna Hagman and husband Marty of McKinney, Anissa McCorkle and husband Clay of Azle, and Brian Biggs and wife Brenda of Cocoa Beach, Florida and Five great-grandchildren to carry on their great-grandmas memory.  
Services will be at 9 AM at North Side Baptist Church on Saturday November 8, 2008. Interment will be in Memory Gardens, Visitation will be on Friday from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.
