On Saturday, August 13, 2022, Manuel Casipit Sr., loving husband and father of five children, passed away at the age of 82. Manuel was born on December 22, 1939 to Antonio and Maria (Abdon) Casipit. He received his mechanical engineering degree from National University in Manila, Philippines and retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers after 24 years of service. In 1962, he married his college sweetheart, Lilia Maria Forral. They raised two sons, Manuel Jr. and Robert, and one daughter, Lillian. Manuel had a passion for golf, music, and gardening. He loved to spoil his grandchildren with candy or stuffed animals and be the DJ of their childhood dance parties. He cherished every moment spent with his great grandchildren, often encouraging them to sing or dance. He was unafraid to take risks, whether it be in the casino, stock market, or moving his young family an ocean away in search of a better life. He was selfless, opening his home to many family members trying to do the same. He and Lilia hosted countless family gatherings and holiday parties, which he always recorded with his Camcorder. He was known for speaking his mind, loud sneezes, and fun-loving spirit.
Manuel was preceded in death by his father, Antonio, his mother, Maria, his wife, Lilia, two sons, Leonard and Anthony, and his siblings, Aurora, Beatrice, Claro, and Antonio Jr. He is survived by his sons, Manuel Jr. and Robert, his daughter, Lillian, eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and many members of his extended family.
Visitation and funeral services will be held on Friday, August 16, 2022 beginning at 2 o'clock p.m. at Galbreaith Pickard Hilltop Chapel in Willow Park, TX.
