Manuel Ray Butler, born February 23, 1945, passed away Friday, May 26, at Medical City in Fort Worth. Ray was born to Leonard and Ida Russie Adams Butler in Clardy, Texas. He was retired from FB McIntire Equipment Company where he was employed for forty years. Ray was a friend to all; there was no one he wouldn’t help, no problem he couldn’t solve, no repair job he couldn’t complete. Ray was counted on, relied upon, and loved by all who knew him.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents as well as three brothers and two sisters: Sam Ezra Butler, Jack Reese Butler, Harold Butler, Mayola Bernice Butler Cluck, and Ethleen Butler Cross.
Ray is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Nancy Bruton Butler, along with three children: Deana Butler of Haltom City, Steven Butler and wife Courtney of Weatherford, and Michael Butler and wife Janie of Willow Park. Ray was Papa to five beautiful grandchildren who loved him dearly, including Ainsley, Eion, and Rian Butler of Weatherford and William and Mali Butler of Willow Park. Ray’s other surviving relatives include Ruby Faye Butler Simmons, Sara Joyce Butler Williams and husband David, Kathleen Butler Miller and husband Phillip, R.L. Butler, Melvin R. Butler, and Earl Dean Butler and wife Peggy, all of Paris, Texas. Ray is also survived by a plethora of other family and friends.
Graveside memorial service will be held for Ray 1:00pm Friday, June 2, 2017 at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Weatherford. James Plowman will officiate. Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.
