Marcia Ruth Gilbert Hatfield

Marcia Ruth Gilbert Hatfield passed away on November 8, 2010 at Weatherford Regional Hospital after an extended illness. She was born on September 26, 1919 to Mark and Lucy Gilbert. Marcia was one of twelve children. She was raised in Garner, TX where she graduated high school.
She married Haney Hatfield in 1938. They were married for nearly 56 years before his death in early 1993. Over the years they would live in various places including Marietta, Georgia and Odessa, Texas before settling in Weatherford, TX in 1954. They would open and operate their own Phillips 66 Service Station in Weatherford. Marcia also worked as a cashier at the Jones Drive-In Theater for nearly twenty years.
Marcia was very proud of her family. After raising her own kids she helped care for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Haney Hatfield, her eight brothers and three of her four sisters.
Marcia is survived by: her sister Betty Mac Riley of Sugarland, TX, daughter- Lynda Hatfield Stowe of Weatherford, son- Raymond Hatfield of Weatherford, granddaughter- Donna Stowe of Weatherford, grandsons -Roy Stowe and his wife Leslie of Azle, Raymond Newt Hatfield and his wife Sandi of Bellingham, WA, Mark Stowe of Weatherford, Forrest Kurt Hatfield of Weatherford, TX, her great grandchildren- Elizabeth Graham, Megan Stowe, Victoria Graham, Rebecca Stowe, Kyle Stowe and Amanda Hatfield, great-great grandson- Layne Rokus, her nephew- Gilbert Day of Dear Park and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank everyone at the Holland Lake Nursing Home for the care that they have provide for Marcia over the past few years. We would also like to say thanks to Davis City Pharmacy for all the help they have provided over the years.
Viewing and visiting will be Friday November 12 from 6 pm to 8 pm. Funeral service will be Saturday November 13 at 10 am at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm St, Weatherford, TX. The burial will be at Bethesda Cemetery.
