Margaret Alice Walker

December 21, 1919 — April 22, 2014

Margaret Alice (McKinzie) Walker, called Sister all her life, went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, April 22, 2014. Margaret Alice was born December 21, 1919. She was the seventh of ten children born to Dan and Alice McKinzie. She grew up in Parker County and married Thomas M. Walker “Hoss” in 1939. They were married until his death in 2003.

Margaret was a school teacher many years in both Parker and Tarrant County. She loved her students and retired from W. J. Turner Elementary, Fort Worth Texas in 1975. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association.

Margaret Alice was a faithful member of Center Point Baptist Church.  She loved the fellowship, music and preaching.  As a Christian wife, mother and friend her life was a true testimony to many.

Mrs. Walker is survived by two sons, Thomas M. Walker Jr. of Weatherford and Ted Walker and wife, Dee of Burleson; three grandsons, Chad Walker of Los Angeles California, Preston Walker and wife, Katie of Weatherford and Austin Walker of Fort Worth; sister, Mary Tackett of Weatherford; sister-in-law, Marjorie McKinzie of Odessa; A special thanks to Jim Plummer for loving me and taking care of me. He was just like a son; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Mount Olivet Cemetery, in Fort Worth. Visitation is 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
