Margie Lee McBride, age 92, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 23, 2024. Margie was born on April 23, 1932, in Weatherford, Texas, to Homer and Exola (Hudson) Littlefield. In 1948, she married the love of her life, B.H. McBride, and together they shared 67 wonderful years.
Margie was a devoted wife and loving mother to their three children. Her heart overflowed with joy as she became a grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Known for her delicious cooking, Margie turned every meal into a feast for her family.
Her life was defined by a strong work ethic and a love for people. Margie dedicated herself to various roles throughout her professional life. She worked for BG&R Insurance, served as a clerk at the Parker County Tax Office, and, after retiring twice, enjoyed a 22-year career as a cashier at Walmart, retiring for the third and final time at the age of 82.
Margie’s faith was a guiding light in her life, and she was a faithful member of Brock Church of Christ. In her free time, she loved sitting on her porch where she fed the birds and watched the deer.
Margie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, B.H. McBride; daughter-in-law, Rhonda McBride; grandson, Dr. Micah Chad McBride; her parents, Homer and Exola Littlefield; and brother, Leland Littlefield.
She is survived by her children: Wayne McBride, Cindy Ann Stalling, and Randy L. McBride and his wife, Dianne. Margie’s legacy lives on through her ten grandchildren: Aaron McBride and wife, Andrea; Emily Putman and husband, Aaron; Evan McBride; April Brim; Alissa Gibson; Travis Nicks and wife, Kendra; Amy Mays and husband, Rodney; and Brian Stalling and wife, Carolyn; Lindsey Kotarski and husband, Josh; and Michael Bigler and wife, Stephanie.
Margie also leaves behind seventeen great-grandchildren: Asher and Asa McBride; Caleb, Levi, and Ethan Putman; Everly McBride; Cole Mays and wife, Jill; Austin Mays and fiancé, Mady; Kalee Mays; Jace and Avery Stalling; Nathan and Hannah Nicks; Roper and Stetson Kotarski; and Lilly and Boone Bigler; as well as two great-great-grandchildren, Ivey and Graham.
A visitation will take place on Sunday, December 29, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, in Weatherford, Texas.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Monday, December 30, 2024, at the same location, with burial to follow at Newberry Cemetery.
Margie’s warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
