Margie Novis Woodruff, 91, of Cool passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Palo Pinto Nursing Home. Margie was born January 31, 1923 in Tahoka, Texas to Jesse and Mattie Thomas. She worked at Sears in Mineral Wells for 22 years and was a member of Southside Church of Christ. Margie was a strong woman and endured much throughout her lifetime. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, continuing to mow her yard up to two years ago. She loved playing Parcheesi, Dominoes and Chutes and Ladders with her grandchildren. Margie was an avid sports fan; her favorite teams were the Dallas Cowboys, the Texas Rangers and most of all the Dallas Mavericks. She is preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, and son Royce Woodruff, six siblings, Marvin, Buck, Jerry, Dorman, Gaylord and Juanita Thomas. Survivors: daughter, Pam Carter of Mineral Wells; granddaughters, Amanda Plyler and husband Justin of Mineral Wells and Autumn Wyman and husband Matt of Colorado Springs, Colorado; four great grandchildren, Hayden, Zeke, Blake and Kashmera; numerous nieces, nephews and loving friends. The family would like to thank The Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders in Weatherford, Integra Care Hospice and Palo Pinto Nursing and Rehab for the loving care they provided for Margie throughout her last months.
Memorial service: 2:00 PM, Monday December 22, 2014 at Southside Church of Christ in Mineral Wells.
