Marilyn Jane Newsome

Marilyn Jane Newsome, age 64, passed away February 22, 2014 in Fort Worth. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 PM Monday, February 24, 2014 at the funeral home.  Service will be held Tuesday, February 25, at 10 AM at Memory Gardens.
She was the third of four daughters born to Herman and Pete Harris. They moved to Springtown, Texas where she attended school. In the summer of 1964, she met the love of her life, Jerry Newsome. They married August 19, 1966 and made their home in Weatherford.  They had two sons, Jerry Wendell, Jr. and Gregory Morris.
Marilyn was a member of the Springtown Eastern Stars of the Masonic Lodge.  Marilyn graduated from Fort Worth Beauty College and opened her own salon. Later she worked at the Weatherford Democrat, General Dynamics and Weatherford Areo Space.  She loved gardening, sewing and cooking for her family most of all.
She is survived by her husband of over 47 years, Jerry Newsome; sons, Jerry Newsome, Jr. and wife, Carole Lynn, Greg Newsome and Miranda Sanchez; sister, Joyce Bruton and husband, Robert; brother-in-law, Mike Hunter; numerous nieces and nephews, Magen, Rudy, Tammy, Travis, Wayne, Tony, Tracy, Amy, Don, Neil and Scott.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Pete Harris, sisters, Lois Harris Rippetoe and Toni Harris Hunter.
