Marilyn Gebbie went to her Heavenly Home on November 5, 2021, after a short illness. Marilyn was born on June 16, 1943, in Creston, Iowa, to the late Robert Franklin and Mary Hyatt Phillips. She was one of five children. Bobby Phillips (June) and William Phillips preceded her in death. Also, her son, Ricky Gene Gebbie and daughter-in-law, Brenda Gebbie preceded her in death.
Marilyn married Arthur Gebbie on May 8, 1965, in Pavillion, Nebraska. Between them they had six children. They attended Southside Christian Church in Council Bluffs, Iowa, where both she and Art loved working with the church and Praising the Lord. She loved to help others.
They moved to Texas in 1976 where they attended North Side Baptist Church and now First Baptist Church in Weatherford. Marilyn absolutely loved her Sunday School Class. She loved to read her Bible. She was a precious woman who always seemed to have a smile on her face. She always put others first.
Marilyn leaves behind her husband, Art; three siblings: Ronnie (Delores) Phillips, Jimmy (Connie) Phillips, and Angie (Randy) Downey; her children: Lorie Gebbie (daughter-in-law), Gene Gebbie, Steve Gebbie, Roxanne (David) McFarland, Randy (Jan) Gebbie, and Penny (Russ) Christiansen; her 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Service will be held Thursday, November 11, 2021, at First Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m., with burial at Memory Gardens following. In lieu of flowers, you can send a donation to First Baptist Church Weatherford, Texas.
