Marilyn Jean Stofko, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025, at the age of 93. Born on April 28, 1931, in Joliet, Illinois, Marilyn was the beloved daughter of Joseph and Bertha Bluth. Her life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and cherished moments.
In her youth, Marilyn found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as bowling in a league alongside her husband. She created lasting memories on outings with her brother and sister-in-law, and she delighted in attending ballgames that brought excitement to those sunny days. In her quieter moments, Marilyn showcased her creativity through cross-stitching, a hobby that reflected her patience and care.
Above all, Marilyn's greatest joy came from her family. She poured her heart into her role as a mother and grandmother, showering her grandchildren with affection and guidance. The bonds she built within her family are a testament to her nurturing spirit.
Marilyn leaves behind her loving daughter, Linda Clark and her husband, David; her son, Edward Stofko, Jr. and his wife, Dee; grandsons, Eric, Sean, Jeremy, Michael, and Justin; as well as her great-grandchildren, Zach, Laney, Hallie, Cohen, Crew, Marlo, Keegan, and Adylynn. Each of them carries a piece of her heart.
She is reunited in eternal peace with her late husband, Edward R. Stofko; her parents; and her brother, Joseph M. Bluth and his wife, Helen.
A small private memorial will be held for the family to honor her memory. Marilyn will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at the DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
Marilyn Jean Stofko will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her unwavering love and the warmth she brought to all who knew her.
