Marion Lloyd Zinn, 81, peacefully passed from this life on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on April 4, 1943, in Mineral Wells, Texas, to Frank and Pauline (Davidson) Zinn, Marion grew up with strong Christian values that shaped his life. He proudly served his country as a member of the National Guard and was a devoted member of the Church of Christ. Marion dedicated 35 years of his professional life to Bell Helicopter before retiring.
In 1965, he married the love of his life, Sharon Nicholson, and together they shared a beautiful 59-year journey. Marion adored their daughter, Lisa, and took great pride in his role as her father. He also enjoyed coaching little league softball, where his caring nature and gentle spirit made a lasting impact on many young lives. Marion’s kindness, humility, and genuine heart earned him the admiration of all who knew him.
Marion was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Pauline Zinn; and in-laws, Hood and Ita Nicholson, Floyd and Anita Nicholson, Kenneth Johnston, Ina and John Davis, Harold Nicholson, and Carolyn Nicholson.
Marion’s legacy lives on through his beloved wife, Sharon Zinn; daughter, Lisa Papa and her husband, Joe; grandchildren, Alyssa Macomber and her husband, Joshua, and Joey Papa; precious great-grandson, Elijah Macomber; brother, Stan Zinn and his wife, Becky; sister-in-law, Aline Johnston; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
To honor Marion there will be a visitation from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, in Weatherford, Texas, with a funeral service at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, October 4, 2024, also at the funeral chapel. Interment will follow at Clark Cemetery.
