Marshall Allen Hagmann, 45, of Weatherford, died Friday, November 5, 2010 in a Dallas hospital. Marshall was born on April 17, 1965 in Dallas, Texas to the late Leon G. and Betty Ruth Bonds Hagmann. He was named for two of his mother's brothers who were role models to him. He grew up in North Richland Hills on Harrell street, attended Snow Heights Elementary School, North Richland Jr. High and graduated from Richland High School in 1983. He attended Tarrant County Community College.
Marshall married Beth Summers on June 27, 1987. To this union were born two children Ryne Eliot and Mallory Summers.
Marshall was an avid outdoorsman. As a boy he learned to hunt, fish and camp with his dad and his dad's friends. This would turn into a life long avocation which he in turn shared with his own son.
He also learned to love to travel as the family took many special long vacations each summer when he was growing up. Marshall love Bosque County where his second home Coon Creek is located. This was the childhood home of his mother and a place where he spent almost every weekend and much of every summer when he was growing up. Here he learned to love the large extended family of cousins, aunts, and uncles who continued throughout his life to be a source of joy to him.
As a naturalist, Marshall loved to hike and became an avid photographer. He did especially wonderful photographs of sunrises, sunsets and lightning. One of his photos of lightning became the most downloaded photo of lightning on the internet.
He owned and operated his own business, the Smoke House for many years and also worked at General Dynamics and Lowes.
Of all Marshall's interests, his wife and children were the light, joy, and love of his life. In addition to sharing and teaching his children the love of nature, travel, hunting and fishing Marshall enjoyed everything his children were involved in.
More important than all the things Marshall did was the man he was. He was generous, kind, thoughtful, fun-loving, caring and good. He will be missed and remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew and friend.
Marshall is preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Beth Summers Hagmann of Weatherford, son Ryne, of Austin, Texas and daughter Mallory of Weatherford. Also a sister Leanne Messer, husband Steve, and nephews Mitchell and Michael of Douglasville, Georgia, and aunt Lola Bonds Eggen of Clifton, Texas; father-in-law Jay Summers and wife, Janice, of Ft. Worth, brothers-in-law: Tracy Summers of Ft. Worth, Tim Summers and wife Kathryn, and children Nathanael, Benjamin, Daniel, Gabriel, and Elizabeth, and Lee Summers of Smyrna, Georgia.
