Martha Ladelle McGehee, 81, joined her husband in their eternal home, January 27, 2020. Born December 12, 1938, to L.N. and Wenonah Humphrey Harrison, in Desdemona, Texas. She married Roy Wayne McGehee in 1957, in Seminole, Texas. She was a West Texas farm wife, president of Young Homemakers of America, and worked at the Yocum County Gin.
After the birth of their children, she became a stay at home Mom. The family later moved to Peaster, where she worked in the school cafeteria; then to Irving, where she was a preschool teacher, and served as PTA president. In San Antonio, she worked with Roy at his Radio Shack store. The family settled in Weatherford, Texas, in 1974, and there she worked in the Middle School Cafeteria, and at First Baptist Day Care.
In 1977, she became HR Director for the Repair Division of Radio Shack, a position that she held until her retirement in 1999. She was a member of South Main Church of Christ and taught the 2 and 3-year-old class. Roy and Martha moved to Graham, Texas, in 2003.
A wonderful cook, avid reader, and animal lover, she also loved to camp and travel. A guided tour of the Holy Land was the highlight of her travels. She was a loving, and very loved, wife, Mom, and Mema. She touched many lives with her kind heart, and care giving nature.
She was preceded in death by her parents. L.N. and Wenonah Harrison; brother, Lynn Humphrey Harrison; husband, Roy McGehee; and son, Terry Wayne McGehee.
Martha is survived by her children, Phillip McGehee and wife, Cheryl of Springtown; Cristy Jeffreys of Graham; Randy McGehee of Graham; son-in-law, Phil Jeffreys of Graham; grandchildren, Alisa McGehee of Springtown; Travis Jeffreys and wife, Kelly of Throckmorton; Brice McGehee of Fort Worth; Chelsea Nail and husband, Wross of Loving; and great grandsons, Braxton Nall and Judson Jeffreys; sister-in-law, Charlotte McGehee of Littlefield; nephews, Chad and David McGehee; and niece, Mica Durham.
The family extends special thanks to Young County Home Health, Beyond Faith Hospice, and Garden Terrace. Know that she loved and appreciated every one of you.
Internment of ashes will be at a later date, with no services planned at the present time.
