Marvin Lee Avants

Marvin Lee Avants, 68, went to be with our Lord, Thursday, March 15, 
2012, in Ft. Worth. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. 
Monday at First Baptist Church of Willow Park. Rev. Kyle Davis and 
Brad Huckabee officiating. Visitation: The family will receive friends 
immediately after the service. Memorials: Expressions of sympathy 
may be made to the Texas Pythian Home, Inc., 1825 E. Bankhead 
Drive, Weatherford, TX 76086.
Marvin Lee was born July 31, 1943, in Paducah, Tx. to Earnest Lee 
Avants and Gertie Lillian Bingham. Marvin Lee was united in marriage 
to Patricia Janell Smith on July 31, 1960 and was married 51 years at 
his death. He was preceded in death by his father, Earnest Lee 
Avants, mother, Gertie Lillian Bingham, son, Garvis Lavarh Avants, 
brothers, Calvert Warnell Avants and Edgar Lee Avants (Pete), and 
sister, Emma Wynema Cargill. Survivors: Left behind to cherish his 
memory are his loving wife, Patricia Avants, his son, Gregory Avants 
and wife, Della, of Tyler, brothers, Garvis R. Avants and wife, Kathy, of
Tyler, Roy Ray Avants (Shorty), and wife, Carolyn, of Ft. Worth, sister, Patsy 
Amick, and husband, Mike, of Mt. Pleasant, sister-in-law, Sharon 
James, and husband, Randall, of Austin. ; grandson, Jared Avants, and 
wife, Ashley C., of Ft. Worth, granddaughter, Ashley J. Avants, of Ft. 
Worth, step grandson, Dustin Snyder, and wife, Danielle, of Tyler, step 
granddaughter, Brandi Eckert, of Tyler; great-grandchildren, Noah, and 
Caleb, step great-grandchildren, Robby, Jacob, Timothy, Bryson, 
Hunter, Emma: and a host of other loved ones and friends.
