Mary Aldene Wilson passed away peacefully in Willow Park, Texas on Monday, July 25, 2022, at the age of 96. Her friends and family remember her as a creative and resolute lady to the end.
Mary Aldene Milligan was born in Strawberry, Arkansas, on February 8th, 1926, the second of five children. Mary was known for her love of jewelry and fashion, dancing, and homemaking. Her children fondly remember receiving handmade outfits every Easter, and they add that she made the most delicious coconut cream pies well into her 90’s. Early in life, Mary earned high commissions by crafting distinctive outfits in a local dress shop. By the 1960s, her talents expanded to include interior decorating in collaboration with her husband, and the family moved often to stay close to new housing developments. In the mid-1970s she ran her own boutique in Magnus, which was soon published in the local newspaper. After the death of her second husband, she moved to north Texas, she wanted to be near her children and grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her baby brother, Fred Milligan, and wife, Beverly, of Cord, Arkansas; daughter, Mary Lou Seidlitz, and husband, Chris of Lake Jackson, Texas; daughter, Rita Roller of Richardson, Texas; and daughter, Rebecca Harris, and husband, Joe of Benbrook, Texas; six grandchildren (Sherri, Brian, Gene, Alan, Mary, and Elizabeth), seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was especially close to niece, Freda Main and late-life friend, Brenda White, whom she loved like family.
