Mary Christine Wimberly

Mary Christine Wimberly, age 96, died on Monday, April 16, 2012 in Weatherford, Texas.

Christine was born on February 3, 1916 to Mose and Effie Lucas in Aledo, Texas. She was a resident of Weatherford and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Christine taught for 39 years for Weatherford ISD at the elementary level and was a member of the retired teachers association. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, reading and spending time with her family.

Christine was preceded in death by her husband, G.F. Wimberly; sisters, Joyce Tankersley, Ilma Jones and brother, William Lucas.

Survivors include her daughter, Marilyn Ruth Wimberly of Weatherford; granddaughter, Gwen Fowler and husband Rhett of Weatherford; great-grandchildren, Jaden and Lillian Fowler; nieces, JoAnne Causey of Weatherford and Kay Bobbit of New Mexico; nephews, Gregory Tankersley of Weatherford, Stevie Tankersley of Mississippi and Bubby Tankersley of Weatherford.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 19 from 6-8 PM at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.
Graveside Service will be held on Friday, April 20, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Oakwood Cemetery in Jacksboro, Texas.
