Mary Elizabeth Peveler

Mary Elizabeth “Mippa” Peveler, 89, of Weatherford, passed away on Tuesday evening, October 13, 2020, in Weatherford.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday evening, October 16, at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street, in Weatherford. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens west of Weatherford.

Mary was born on December 15, 1930, in Mineral Springs, Arkansas to Morgan and Flora Bennett. She married George Peveler on January 9, 1951, and together had two children, Larry and Judy. A devout Christian, Mary was a member of New Faith Baptist Church. She was an active member of the TOPS group for over 20 years. She enjoyed social events – particularly playing BINGO with her TOPS club. Most of all, Mary cherished time spent with her family particularly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her children, Larry and wife, Linda Peveler, and Judy and husband, Steve Matthews; grandchildren, Paul, Jesse, and Nicole; great-grandchildren, Ty and his wife, Delaney, Brooklynn, Cade, Layla, and Mason; by one great-great-grandson, Braxley; by her sister, Shirley Reed; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, George in 1996; and by several brothers and sisters.
