Mary Elizabeth Wasson

Mary Elizabeth Wasson, age 92, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 in Fort Worth, Texas.  She was born on August 2, 1920 to Edward and Lois Gates in Decatur, Illinois.  She retired from Millikin University where she worked as a secretary in the music department.  She enjoyed reading, spending time with her family and the ocean.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold; cherished grandson, Michael Wasson, and her trusted dog, Dottie.
 Mary leaves behind her sons, Larry Wasson and wife, Beverly of Clarkston, Washington, Jerry Wasson and wife Shirley of Taylorville, Illinois; six grandchildren, Michelle McMillan, Seth Wasson, Jacob Wasson, Luke Wasson, Tom Stowell, and Vince Stowell; numerous great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Mary suffered with Alzheimer’s for the last 10 years of her life.  Despite years of confusion, in her final hours, she became very aware and remembered her family who has taken care of her and loved her for so long.  She blessed them with her gratitude and peaceful departure.
