Mary Saul

January 4, 1920 — March 9, 2012

Mary Saul, age 92, passed away on Friday,  March 9, 2012. Our mother was born on January  4, 1920, in Columbia Tennessee, one of eleven children.  After graduating from nursing school at Nashville General Hospital, she served with the Army Nursing Corps during World War II in the North Africa campaign and in Europe.  Her army service was followed by a long and varied nursing career in Weatherford. A cherished wife, mother, and Granny, she was preceded in death by her husband Harvey and is survived by daughters Vicki Weart, Tracy Ragle and son-in-law Gene Ragle, son Todd Saul and daughter-in-law Pam Saul, older sister Sue Harris, brothers J.A. Aydelotte and Gene Aydelotte, and  nephew Randy Mellard as well as many other nieces and nephews.  She also leaves behind five beloved grandchildren Richard Weart, Maryl Ragle, GeneAnne Ragle, Kristin Alexander, and Trevor Saul; three great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.  Our mother wanted to see and do everything, and she loved to travel whenever and wherever possible.  Never afraid to try anything new, she rode a camel in Israel; walked the great Wall in China when she was 66; rode an elephant in Thailand when she was 80; did several  white water rafting trips where she easily kept up with the younger folk.  She had many adventures and loved them all.  By far, though, her greatest love was her family and she was always there for us when she was needed.  She will be sorely missed by all of us.

A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at
Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.  A private service for the family
will follow at a later date.   In lieu of flowers please consider donations to Saint Jude Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project.
