Mary Earline Scoggins

April 18, 1931 — March 16, 2024

  Mary Earline Scoggins, 92, of Weatherford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 16, 2024. She was born April 18, 1931, in Dallas County, Texas, to Virgil and Mattie Moore. She spent her early childhood years growing up in Fort Worth before moving to Peaster with her family. On January 29, 1949 she married the love of her life, Larry Dene Scoggins. They spent 65 wonderful years together before Larry passed. They had four children: Dene, Darla, Vicki, and Gary. 

She was a homemaker most of her life. She worked for a short time in the school cafeteria at Hall Middle School. She loved being home when her kids left for school in the mornings and being there when they came home after school. She had wonderful home cooked meals waiting every day. She was a beautiful, precious, loving, and caring person that would help anyone do anything. She loved going to church and missed it so much when she was ill and couldn't go.

  Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Larry Scoggins; grandson, Tommie Dobbs; sisters, Thelma and Leah; and brothers, Jack and James.

  Survivors include: children, Dene Scoggins, Darla and Mack Dobbs, Vicki and Alan Beck, and Gary and Shannon Scoggins. She is survived by 11 grandchildren including, Chris, Mandi, Tracy, Mitchell, Chad, Nikki, Amber, Brandon, Cameron, Ashlynn, and Alyse; 25 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren; sister, Fran and Steve Noakes; and brother, Archie and Martha Moore. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

  Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, March 20, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, in Weatherford.

   A funeral service honoring her life will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at Santa Fe Baptist Church, in Weatherford. Following the service, interment will occur at Zion Hill Cemetery.
